- Ok officer but I could've sworn I was driving the speed limit.
- Herman has been pulled over for a regular traffic stop for going 10 miles over the speed limit luckily he knows his rights and what to do especially if something goes bad he can always use his 5th amendment. The 5th amendment allows Herman to avoid incriminating himself if something were to go wrong.
- Hi Sir I pulled you over because you were driving 10 miles over the speed limit.
- What do you mean officer I haven't smoked any marijuana and I don't have any.
- Herman is now suspected of having marijuana in his car he knows that by refusing to let the officer search his vehicle he may be arrested. This means Herman will have use his 5th amendment right as to not incriminate himself.

- May I search your car then?
- Sir why does your car smell like marijuana?
- Herman is now under arrest luckily he is invoking his 5th amendment right and refusing to speak anymore as to not incriminate himself. Herman will now have to go to the police station for questioning but due to his 5th amendment right he will not have to answer any further questions until his lawyer is present.
- ok sir you are under arrest for refusing to comply and driving under the influence of marijuana.
- You have the right to remain silent .
