- St Ignatuis was the youngest of 13 children in a rich and wealthyfamily. At 16 St Ignatuis was sent to serve as a page to Juan Velazquez, the treasurer of the kingdom of the castle.
- In May 20 1521, the french army attacked the town of Pamplona. St Ignatuis worked hard trining to fight off the attackers, but unfortunately Ignatuis was hit by a cannonball sustaining a bad fracture of his right leg and damage to his left leg. This near death experienceled him into a place of repentanceand devotion to God.
- When Ignatuis and two other men were praying in Rome they had a calling from Goad saying that he would be favourableto him. During Lent 1534 in MontereyIgnatuis gathereda group of companions to create their ownreligiousorder, which they named the society of Jesus. This was the calling of god that affected him to divert himself to preaching and teaching his mission, and also building many schools and universities.
