- Firstly is the interconnection between Howard and Melinda. They have a conversation about evolution and believing the word of the bible. Basically the two opposing sides. After that new characters are introduced and we're outside the courthouse.

- Cates was put into trial for breaking the Butler Law. He was brought to court since he taught the Theory of Evolution to Howard and the rest of his class. This brings him to court since everyone else is very religious.

- No that isn't fair!
- Choose him, he believes in the bible!
- The events that occurred before Act 2 all add/build up to the next part aka the Climax. For instance one event would be choosing the people for the jury.

- Haha he really thinks he's going to win this case.
- Brady let me ask you a few questions.
- Drummond calls up Brady to the stand as a witness. Right at this point it's at it's peak. Drummond is feeling so much pressure and Brady feels like he got it all under control. In the end here it's a shocking turning point.

- Falling Action
- Guilty! With a $100 fine!
- Then, like a figure in a waxworks, toppling from its pedestal, he falls stiffly, face forward.
- No I lost :( and omg is he good?

- Cates is found guilty and given a fee of $100. Brady is frustrated and tries to give speech but no one listened since they all started to side with Drummond. Cates is later on found dead.

- In the end Cates was found guilty although he still won. Now people will look at Cates highly since he broke a huge law and still stood by his opinion through it all. Cates is then bailed out and he leaves to live happily with Rachel.
