- The Creation Of The Milky Way - Greek Myth
- This story begins with Alcmene, a woman that had become pregnant by the god Zeus. Hera, Zeus wife, ordered Ilithyia (the godess of child birth) to not allow Alcmene to give birth, but she was tricked and Alcmenes did give birth. Because of Hera's rage, they renamed the baby Heracles, meaning for the glory of Hera.
- Hera is going to kill me, but let's just smile :)
- Alcmene feared what an angry Hera could do, so she abandoned her child in a Theban field (a common method of killing unwanted children in Ancient Greece). Later, Zeus half-sister Athena saved Heracles and took him with her to the Mount Olympus. After this, Athena went to Hera telling her that she had rescued this unknown baby (knowing full well who he was).

- The motherly instincts of Hera kicked when she saw the baby, and taking the boy from Athena, started to nurse him. Heracles would happily suckle upon the nipple of Hera, but as he did so, he sucked too hard, and in pain, Hera removed the baby from her nipple. As Hera did so, her milk sprayed out into the Heavens, creating the Milky Way.

- Finally, Athena returned the baby back to Alcmene and Amphitryon (her other husband), and after all of this they realised that it was the god's will that Heracles should grow up with them, as a family.
