- "I'm not giving it away." I snatched the pomegranate from his hand (Saeed 51).
- Jawad Sahib hit amal with his car. And he took her pomegranate. But Amal did not like that so she stood up to him and snatched it out of his hands. This shows that she was brave and she was fighting for her rights.
- "The third tree past the sign for Minawala. That's where the body is buried" (Saeed 209).
- "There's a chance he could tie it to me, which could lead to you" (Saeed 210).
- Amal was telling Asif what Jawad did. When Asif found out that Jawad killed somebody he was shocked. So he called his dad/loyer to do something about it. But Amal could have gotten in trouble if Jawad found out. This shows that she was trying to fight for her rights and do the right thing.
- Amal has finally stood up to Jawad and he ended up in jail. So when Amal told Asif he called his dad and finally got arrested. This shows that Amal was fighting for her rights and a change occurred.
- "It happened. Jawad Sahib had been arrested" (Saeed 214).
