- Amir had received much news from Rahim He received a polaroid from Hassan with a letter that said he talked about Amir a lot to his family and wanted to see at least a picture of Amir. Talks about how they used to go to that tree and play. The letter he sent is said because of what the Taliban's are doing to people.
- Taliban's came and evicted Hassan and his family for false lying to them about living in the big house with Rahim Khan. Hassan protested and had to kneel and get shot in the street then Farzana defended him and got shot too. The Taliban's said it was self defense and said terrible things about it. Amir is said to be drifting away cause of this news. The Taliban's moved into this house. Rahim khan is also dying during all of this.

- Rahim stated that Sohrab went to a orphanage in some place called Kabul because his parents died and had know where to go
- Rahim wants Amir to get Sohrab and give him to a family that would take him in, but he doesn't want to because Kabul is very dangerous and he has a family already and doesn't want anything to ruin that. Amir also is afraid if he gets Sohrab and he gets left again he will feel very bad about this.
- Amir finds out that That Hassan is actually Babas child and that Ali had more than one wife and that Ali is sterile(cant have children). This makes everything change because his life was pretty much a lie and the fact that Hassan was treated badly is sad.This symbolizes like shock and how he finds out about this
- Amir was upset because he was grieving and was guilting over everything that happened to his closet people he knew and he did not want his life to get worse because of everything. He was very upset because he believed Hassan Was Alis kid not Babas and was never told that Hassan was his brother and he got very upset cause they couldn't tell anyone. Amir said that his life was a whole life. He also can never forgive Hassan not helping when he got raped when he lied for the stealing money thing.
