- My dear daughters, the time has come to divide my kingdom. Give me the map. We shall divide the kingdom in three. Tell me daughters which of you doth love us most?

- Goneril, you are most honorable. I shall make you Queen of all the land! Take this piece of the map, it's yours now.

- Nothing, I love thee according to our bond. How can my sisters love you wholly when they have husbands? If I shall ever marry, I will love him with half my duty.
- My dear Cordelia, what can you say to draw a third more opulent than your sisters?

- So young and inept? Propinquity and blood property, as a stranger to my heart and me, keep thee away from this forever! I'll divide your property in half for your sisters.

- Now the King had given all of his land away to his greedy daughters. If he had intended his land to be well kept, he has been fooled by his unscrupulous daughters!
