These quizzes affirmed the pedagogy of Confucius. A person’s completion of the questionnaires conclude whether or not he was accepted for the profession.
- Alchemists in the Song Empire accidentally discovered gunpowder. With this, they developed fireworks and shortly later they adopted gunpowder to propel arrows. Discoveries like these demonstrate why the Song Dynasty was recognized as a golden age.
