Hey, I'm Jack and today we're going to talk about the electoral college.
Now you may be asking what is the electoral college? Well don't worry I'll tell you.
To make it simple, you can say the electoral college strengthens a state's electoral power or their standing, based on minority rate
The main question people ask is does the electoral college strengthen or harm democracy
Usually a question like this is opinionative, but my standing is that it strengthens democracy
There's lots of evidence that points to this claim. For example, Texas a state filled with minorities has more voting power than a state like West Virginia.
Another form of evidence is the fact that you can lose a popular vote and still win the electoral vote
For example, president John Quincy Adams lost his popular vote, but became president after winning his electoral vote
Another case where this is happened is with president Rutherford B. Hayes.
Anyway these are just the surface of the evidence pointing towards this.
Well, that's enough to say for today. I hope you were able to understand my point of view on the electoral college. See you all next time
