  • When flying to space first started it was a only men job. But women thought they should be able to fly too. There was a lot of debate but clearly they didn't have too many valid reasons why only men should fly. So the debate was settled and women would now be allowed to fly!
  • Thank you!
  • here you go!!
  • ...But it was all gone.
  • YOU WHAT?!?!?!?
  • oops, i might have given it to the people near the place I landed
  • The food was horrible!
  • Valentina Tereshkova and Valentina Ponomaryova made it to the top two out of the top five, the only reason why Tereshkova made it was because she is more feminine, doesn't have kids and is single. Ponomaryova had a better performance in training, was a Accomplished pilot, and a scientist in the department of applied mathematics. but they thought Tereshkova was better for the job.
  • that's affirmative on the 115. The Palapa satellite is now set on orbit.
  • we wonder if we're still on a 115 limit for shutdown
  • On June 16 1963, Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman ever in space, She orbited the earth 48 times; and spent 2 days, 22 hours, and 50 minutes in space. Vostok 6's mission was to investigate the effects of zero gravity on a female, and operations between two spacecrafts in space.
  • Valentina gave all her leftover food to the people that lived around where she landed. She later got in trouble for that because the chief designer needed to know how much food was left for future flight references. And that set a bad image for women.
  • After Valentina flew to space more women started working with space science. Some famous women that had major accomplishments in Nasa were Katherine Johnson, Kitty O'Brien Joyner, and Mary Jackson. They were great mathematicians
  • The story ends with Sally Ride Day being the first american woman to fly to space; staying in orbit for about two weeks in 1987. During her flight, Sally and her coworkers worked a robotic arm to help release satellites into space. They also made tons of experiments such as launching communication satellites.
