- Irony is the contrast between the way things seem and the way they are. In this box it shows that people think people drive safely when in reality they dont.
- Foreshadowing
- Remember to wear your seatbelt and be safe
- Idiom is a phrase where the words together have a meaning that is different from the dictionary definitions of the individual words. The phrase its raining cats and dogs means its raining very hard.
- Motivation
- I have to practice to get drafted into the NBA!
- Allusions are an indirect and usually brief reference to a famous person, place, or event.In this box, the man makes a reference to Charlie Gordan because the girl falls.
- Inference
- The use of clues or hints to suggest events that will occur later in the plot. In this box, the wife says to her husband to wear his seatbelt and be safe and later in the story something bad happens during his drive.
- Motivation is the reason or reasons one has for behaving a particular way. For example in this box the basketball player is motivated to work hard and practice to get into the NBA.
- An inference is a conclusion one can draw from presented details. An educated guess. From the picture you could guess that it was the baby that through the food.
