In the 1970s the animation market shrank significantly in Japan.

But this doesn't mean that there weren't breakthroughs. With more young people interested in working in animation,there were all new styles brought into anime.

The 1980's were the time for science fiction animes. Because of Star Wars' introduction into the world people craved science fiction films and series and the Japanese animation studios jumped on the bandwagon.

The 1990's brought in some controversial animes like "Neon Genesis Evangelion. and"Cowboy Bebop" because of their inappropriate content like sexual and violent scenes.

The 1990's also brought back genres like super robot, Martial art, and Magical girls.

In the 2000's the Robot genra contuined with real robot and super robot. Also poplar manga, light novels, and comic book titles were turned into animes likeYu-Gi-Oh! ,Naruto,Fullmetal Alchemist,Fairy Tail, Death note,and many more.

The 2010's theToonamiwas brought back,rebranding
its self and brought dubbed animes likeSword Art Online,Attack on Titan,Parasyte,One-Punch Man,Durarara,and many more.

There were some better moments around this time with three hundred forty anime hitting T.Vs. There was also the movie "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Infinity Train"that came out making10 billion yen in only 10 days giving it the title ofhighest-grossing Japanese film.

Around this time animation companies were shutting down or being brought up because of their loss of prophets ADV Films, Bandai Entertainment, and Geneon Entertainment.
