- In West Germany, the people are thriving in a diplomatic environment, and West Berlin is developing at a healthy rate, although the nation of West Germany is tense. It is very similar to most of nowadays western society. It is not common for the people of Western Germany to enter the East, but if they wish they can apply for a permit.
- Meanwhile in Eastern Germany the communist lifestyle was stagnant and dull. Although this country was not considered poor, it was a difficult lifestyle for some, as they were not allowed to visit friends and family in West Germany. There were many rules and regulations that they had to have a police department called the Stasi. They enforced rules around the wall as well as who could have what jobs. People in East Germany did not have many forms of communication with West Germany, and most of their media came from the Soviet Union.
- 1989 - After many protests from the citizens of both East and Western Germany, the Government begins to open the border, and thousands of people come to celebrate, meeting their family and friends for the first time in nearly 30 years. Germany is once again reunited, and the strict communist regime is gone from Germany!
