- How do you suppose I know your the real Odysseus? You have been gone for twenty years.
- Eurycleaia will you please move our bed?
- Yes Penelope.
- Why does your servant know of our secret! That bed cannot be moved as it is made of an olive tree. Why would you even ask such a foolish question! I shaped that bed as the tree grew. I cut the branches and molded it! This is our sign of love Penelope!
- Do not rage at me Odysseus. Look at all the troubles the gods have put us through. I simply could not love you on sight as I had to test you first. Please forgive me Odysseus
- Odysseus, with the help of Telemachus and others kills the suitors which gives him the opportunity to talk to Penelope at last.Even though Odysseus is not disguised anymore, she is still skeptical.
- Forgive me!I am sorry.
- Penelope then tests Odysseus to prove if he really is her husband by asking her servant, Eurycleaia to move their bed.
- Odysseus is outraged by this and begins to yell at Penelope.
- The two then mourn and weep together as they reunite
