- The war started and they thought it would only last 6 months. German soldiers attacked. German soldiers took the ghetto and made jews follow their rules. The german took away the schools and the library. Germans raided the houses to take valuables. Words spread that the Germans take jews to death camps. Yaneks family gets taken. Shortly after yanek gets taken, they kill uncle moshe. He makes friends. They almost get caught hiding
- Yanek was chosen to work in a tailor shop in the concentration camp. He sees uncle Moshe in Rollcall. He starts to yell uncle moshes name but Uncle mosche does not respond. he got a new job which is building barracks. a man in yaneks group got killed for not working fast enough so uncle mosche trades his daily portions to a Kapo for Yanek to clean the Ghetto. Uncle moshe hids he money. Uncle moshe dies.
- One day Yanek got picked in roll call to go work. They yanek took to Wielczka salt mine to work. Some jews killed a judenrat from Yaneks town. a prisoner took one of the Kapos Clubs and started to beat him and Yanek was thinking yes this is our chance. The other Kapos Shoot the revolting jew and killed alot of others.
