- Blanche arrives to new orleans, elysian fields ave to visit her sisiter stella. the Kowalski home, internally horrified at its conditions. She greets her sister, Stella, warmly, but theres some tension between the sisiters.

- Stanley comes home from the hospital, where Stella is giving birth. He finds Blanche visibly drunk, and, after a verbal altercation with her, he rapes her
