- Mrs. Mallard's Sister, Josephine, tells her that her husband has passed away. However, she explains it in a friendly manner due to Mrs. Mallards heart problem.
- Crisis
- Free, Free, Free!!!
- Her sister found out the news because of her husbands friend Mr. Richards, who saw Mr. Mallards name on the "Killed" list.
- Climax
- Mrs. Mallard looks outside lost in her thoughts. Finally realizing she is free from her husband.
- Falling Action
- Mrs. Mallard is joyous that her her husband has passed away. Because of his death she is finally free, and she can live a long and happy life , and have new opportunities.
- Mrs. Mallard takes her sister with her, awaiting her new journey as a free woman. However, we find out her husband is not dead after all.
- Mrs. Mallard sees her husband is alive and she falls to the ground. We find out she had died of a heart disease, most likely due to the shock of seeing her husband.
