No, but most countries in the world have elections. All democratic countries have election. Some non-democratic countries also have elections.

For an election to be democratic,firstly everyone should have the right to vote and each vote should have one value.

Secondly, parties and candidates should be free to contest elections providing some real choice to the voters.There should be something to choose from.

The elections should be cconducted regularly after every few years. The candidate preferred by the people must get elected.

Finally the elections must be conducted in a free and fair manner where people can choose as they really wish.
