"He walked drearily between the trunks, his face empty of expression, and the blood was dry round his mouth and chin." pg. 145-146
This shows that Simon is going insane. Simon isn't really himself, the island is making him crazy.
"Let them go, said Ralph, uneasily,I don't care, just for some meat-" pg 148
This shows that Ralph doesn't really want the boys going to Jack party because he's secretly scared that the boys might want to join Jacks tribe. but gave in but just for some meat.
"I said you were hunters.'That was your job." Jack ignored him again. 'Who'll join my tribe and have fun?' 'I'm chief,' said Ralph. pg 150
This shows Jack and Ralph disagreeing about who will join each side.
"Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood!" pg 152
All the boys are trying to kill the "beast". They are running around sticks,knives and spears in their hands.
"The sticks fell and the mouth of the new circle crunched and screamed. The beast was on its knees in the center ,its arms folded over its face."
The boys are trying to kill the beast. However while they think they are killing the beast they are actually trying to kill Simon.
"...itself a silver shape beneath the steadfast constellations, Simon's dead body moved out toward the open sea" pg 154
The "beast" that the boy skilled was actually their friend Simon. Simon was trying to get away from them and try to remember who he is. However he trips on a rock onto the beach. Then the boys fall on him violently and kill him.
