- First of all you have to identify and idicate what is Obosolete or redundant. Once you have identified that ,You can arrange with MAM when to collect. Prior in to collecting the assets.You have to complete a movement form with the assets listed and forward the mail to DEDATFin.help@westerncape.gov.za

- I have alot of Assets that i would like to dispose of. What is the process?

- The MAM Unit also seeks potential beneficiaries from DEDAT Officials in qualifying to receive any assets. Once we receive the contact details MAM will email the Manager of that organ to inquire if they are interested in any of the Assets to be donated.
- Oh that 's great. Giving back to the community, it's awesome. What a marvelous and delightful gesture to donate to charity.
- We appoint a disposal committee for that Financial Year. Meetings are taken place and decisions are taken by the Committee on what and when and who will Assets be donated to. MAM will contact the Department of Education firstly. If they decline , we nominate NGO's alternatively ,like under privilege schools, or Old Age homes.

- Yes, its amazing what we do at Finance and as a Department. So the next step is, MAM identifies the assets to the NGO's with a list attached to what they will receive and they will have to acknowledge and accept the receipt of those assets via email correspondance
- Once we have all the letters of acceptance from the NGO's. We upload it on MyContent. We compile a RFQ with regard to a delivery company requesting to deliver those assets to all the different NGO's. The successful Service provider would than be notified by SCM.

- Thereafter we would arrange a disposal committee meeting to conclude and undertake the operation.
- Once all assets are delivered to the selected and chosen NGO'S. The service provider would arrange with MAM to assign a date and time to collect assets and deliver it to the relevant NGO'S.MAM would co-ordinate the process and accompany the delivery company. Once all assets are delivered , MAM would proceed with the Logis Capturing. Removing all Disposal assets from the Asset Register. Officials would than file and upload all important documentation
- That is an a extraodinary and extensive process.
- Asset disposal is the final stage in the asset life cycle and is initiated when the economic life cycle of the movable asset has expired and becomes redundant or obsolete.
