- METAPHASE 1
- We're now attached along the equator of spindle!
- -Chromatin condense & chromosome supercoils-Nuclear Envelope breaks down-Chromosomes come together in homologous pairs
- ANAPHASE 1
- Why did the motor protein have to pull us apart...
- -CROSSING OVER occurs when NON-SISTER chromatids WRAP AROUND eachother & may SWAP SECTIONS so ALLELES SHUFFLE
- TELOPHASE 1
- -Homologous chromosomes attach along equator of spindle by centromere (way they line up determines how they'll segregate independently when pulled apart in Anaphase)
- REMEMBER TAMZIN:
- Remember that this is the first stage of Meiosis: MEIOTIC DIVISION!
- -Members of homologous chromosomes pulled apart by motor proteins(cross over areas separate from eachother= swapped areas of chromosome & allele shuffling)
- -EACH NEW NUCLEUS CONTAINS HALF ORIGINAL NUMBER OF CHROMOSOMES!
