  • Is this another one of God's strange warnings? Will there be a battle coming for us?
  •
  • OMG! It's Quetzalcoatl, he's finally came back. We must treat him like a god. But then again, he could just be some the enemies from the Mirror Bird., nah, can't be, right?!
  • Yes... My plan is working perfectly! Soon this city of gold shall be mine!
  • The Gods were being very strange and sent the Aztecs many confusing signals, including lightning but no thunder and a strange bird with a mirror on its face which you could see the stars. Except, when the Emperor, Montezuma II, at the time, looked at it and saw armies marching to war.
  • Sorry, boys. You've done good.
  • Bring the bridge over here! Leave them! They've served their purpose!
  •
  • I want my mommy!
  • OH NO! They're still coming!!!
  • But then, foreigners came from the East. They were treated kindly and showered in riches in gifts. Montezuma did this because, as it was known, long ago one of their gods named Quetzalcoatl sailed in that direction and Montezuma thought that the leader, Cortés was just Quetzalcoatl coming back.
  • *cough*
  • TENOCHTITLAN THAT WAY ->
  • *cough*
  • *cough*
  • Not long after, Cortés and his men stole the nobles gold and killed them. Like a coward, Montezuma didn't send his warriors to attack, but actually surrendered to the Spainards.
  • Some time later, the Spaniards tried to escape, but their fault was that they only had one bridge and the had left a whole lot of their men behind. Not only that, but their armor was weighing them down, and all the riches they were smuggling out. They eventually drive the Spaniards out of the city, but costing many live of their warriors, which leads them with lesser troops to fight back with if they come back. They start strategizing why they lost and realized that the spaniards are equipped with weapons the Aztecs have never even seen before.
  • Not giving the Aztecs much time to recover, the Spaniards come back, this time armed with something just as dangerous as their cannons and guns-- SMALLPOX, oh-- and a whole bunch of all the other angry tribes that the Aztec's conquered.
  • Many died in the almost-never-ending warfare, but a whole majority ended up dead or too weak to fight or protect themselves because of the disease. The Aztecs have never witnessed or faced smallpox before, but the Spaniards had and they were immune to it! In 1521, the Aztecs surrendered, after most of their population was wiped out and/or could no longer fight.
  • STOP!!! WE-- Sigh-- SURRENDER
