- It was originally built as a Christian Cathedral and was the largest Christian church at the time
- This will no longer remain a mosque under my control
- After the takeover of Constantinople, Mehmet II, the Sultan of the Ottoman Turks, had converted the Hagia Sophia into a mosque
- With the conversion into a mosque, minarets were added and Christian images were plastered over. There was also calligraphy and manuscripts that were contained within the walls

- The Hagia Sophia remained a mosque for around 500 years, until the Turkish president secularized the nation in 1935
- Now, present day, it exists as a museum holding great value
