- I chose USC because of its professional MBA program which gave some credit for work experience, and the degree could be completed in an accelerated period. Also, USC's MBA program was internationally renowned.

- I chose the University of Pennsylvania because of my leadership role in higher education, the school's prestige, and the accelerated executive doctorate program.

- I attended college because my credentials didn't meet the minimum qualifications for professional jobs that were of interest to me.
- I received my BA degree from Columbia College, a liberal arts and women's school. This school was right for me because I was a married, working mother. The initial registration process was accommodating, and they accepted my credits from a two year college. Throughout my course work, the professors were approachable, personable, and the class sizes were small.
- I attended graduate school because I was overlooked for a job promotional opportunity, and my employer hired someone who had earned a master's degree.
- I want to continue to advance in my career, and now it is an expectation for an executive in higher education to possess a doctorate degree.
