- It is illegal to burn the American flag! I'm taking you to court!
- Burning an American flag in the state of Texas is illegal, the American flag is listed as a venerated object and it is not allowed to harm or destroy any venerated objects
- I would like to appeal this case, my actions were “symbolic speech” which is protected by the First Amendment in the constitution.
- I believe that my actions are protected by the first amendment and want to go to the supreme court
- Although these actions have made many people mad there outrage does not indicate that these actions were unconstitutional
- With a 5 to 4 vote the court has decided that burning the American Flag is a type of freedom of speech and you will not be punished.
- I'm free because of my first amendment rights.
