- Over 300 000 pesants, ordinary people and even some skilled soldiers attended this crusade in 1096, hence the name ''people's crusade" was born, with Peter the Hermit in charge.

- The people's crusade pillaged in Hungary. However, their behavour was so bad that they came face to face with Hungarian soldiers. After all this, their numbers lowered to just 100 000.
- When the people's crusade finally reached the holy land, the army was immediately masacered by the saljek army. Peter the Hermit ran away from battle.
