- So many assessments to choose from! How will I know if the child's abilities are accurately represented?
- 1. The SLP prepares for a child language evaluation.
- I should choose the CELF-4 to assess social communication.
- My mom said I'm here for a screening. But I bet it's a test!
- 2. The children interact prior to the evaluation
- My dad said I'm here to play. I had to take a test before. I would be really nervous if I were you! I hope the test isn't hard because I know how nervous I felt when I took a test!
- I guess. There's nothing else to do around here.
- 3. The children find a puzzle and agree to work together to complete it.
- Wanna help me with this puzzle?
- Be really careful when you get down! It would be sad if you got hurt and cried. I always cry when I get hurt.
- 4. The children work diligently to complete the puzzle together.

- Hmm...One aspect of communication we may target: using thought bubbles instead of speech bubbles.

- 7. The SLP remembers the child's sensory diet, and the child's demeanor changes.
