1066 THE BATTLE OF STAMFORD BRIDGE

- Its nearly morning..... Hardrada´s men are sleeping and are woken suddenly at the arrival of king Harold Godwinson´s army.
- The battle starts babdly for Hadrda´s men. Some have left their armour several miles away.
- Hardrdas men seem to be gaining control of the battle. One brave Viking blocks the only bridge and kills 40 Englishmen with his axe.
- With no way over the bridge, Hardrada´s men are protected by the river and King Harrold´s men are at a standstill.
- The viking guarding the bridge is killed and the English Army rush to cross the bridge noticing that some Vikings have forgotten their armour.
- By midday King Harold G´s army is in control. Hardrada is killed.
- Tostig is soon found and cut into pieces.
