- People often take for granted how fortunate they are to have enough food to eat and enough water to drink. We as a society often have more food than we need and end up throwing a good portion of it out. Not to mention the excessive amount of water usage we participate in daily
- People in other countries are not always as fortunate.
- It is estimated that famine has killed 260k people in Somalia between 2010 and 2012. More than 6 million people, half the country's population face food insecurity
- Drought is whole other area of concern. Drought in these third world countries cause loss of crops, desertification, as well as death of livestock. Without crops and animals people aren't able to get enough food or sell their products.
- But, it doesn't have to be this way
- We can do our part to help these people. By raising awareness about these issue,s we can hope to raise funds to assist these crises. You can do your part by donating to organizations like Save the Children, The Canadian Red Cross Society and many more. Every bit helps.
