- Darius died, so king Xerxes organized an army of 180,000 to attack Greece. They crossed the Hellespont channel by walking across 100s of boats roped together

- The Persians are EVERYWHERE!!!
- Xerxes marched and overwhelmed other Greek polis, the news spread so Sparta and Athens worked together to defeat the Persians. The Athenian navy would stop the Persian navy and the Spartan army would stop the Persian army.
- Spartan Army VS Persian Army
- The Persians tried to go through a narrow gap to get to the Greeks but the Greeks drove them out, a Greek traitor told the Persians about a secret path through the mountains to defeat the Greeks.
- The Persians surrounded the Spartans, so the Spartans were ordered to escape, the Spartans eventually lost the battle, so then the Persians could advance to Athens.
