- Step 4 of criminal court cases is the arraignment. The suspect goes to court and decides whether the plead guilt or non guilty.They can either plead guilty and possibly get a lesser sentence with a plea bargain, or they can plead innocent and a trial date is set. Mr. Rodney and his attorney decided to plead innocent and their date was set.
- We have decided ;to plead innocent,your honor.
- What's it gonna be, Mr. Rodney?
- STEP 5
- Step 5 of criminal court cases is the trial. The prosecution and the defense present their cases/evidence and the jury reaches a verdict. Mr. Rodney and his attorney are the defense and are pleading innocence while Ms. Wright and her attorney are the prosecution and believe that Mr. Rodney is guilty.
- Your honor, that man is guilty of theft.
