- Good morning Madam Bay, do you have any suggestion on how to control sick building syndrome that recently happened in one of the resident house at this area?
- Oh, yes ! I already observe this situation and i manage to find out few suggestions for the resident.
- During my observation, i found out there were few ongoing work maintenance in their house as they recently moving in. Meanwhile, some VOC's sources were left scattered in their house.
- Therefore, my suggestions to control this issues are any adhesive substance, cleaning agent and pesticides should be stored and used in well-ventilated spaces. Moreover, it is beneficial to use the pollutant sources during non-occupancy (EPA, 1991).
- Great ! I also do have suggestion to mitigate this issue while observing their house.
- Based on Day et. al. (2018) stated that a number of companies are selling additive technology for paint applications to actively absorb or photocatalytically degrade indoor air VOCs. Hence, we can suggest the occupant to choose this innovation paint.
- Thus, the occupants will has lower risk of exposure to formaldehyde.
