  • Hello everyone! I together with my partner will discuss to all of you about the History of Computers.
  • Hi guys! We hope you will all learn from us.
  • Partner did you already know that before the computers were invented/created people used sticks, stones, and bones as counting tools?
  • Of course I know that, but you know before computers, an Abacus was one of the most well-known analog devices. It is considered to be the world's first analog computer. It was invented in Ancient Mesopotamia and was used to perform simple equations before being copied by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Chinese.
  • Hmmm! what should come next?
  • Oh and guys please don't forget about this. Pascaline, also known as the arithmetic machine, was invented in 1642 by a French mathematician and philosopher named Blaise Pascal. Pascal's invention became the most successful mechanical calculator thanks to the assistance of a German mathematician-philosopher named Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.
  • Oh, I know it already. In the 1820s, Charles Babbage invented the difference machine, the first automatic calculator capable of solving polynomial functions. As a result of his invention he was dubbed as the Father of the Computer.
  • You got it right partner. And also Herman Hollerith is the creator of a machine to summarize and process data for the 1890s US census, which later became the company IBM or the International Business Machine.
  • Vannevar Bush is known particularly for his engineering work on analog computers, he invented the first electrical computer in 1931, which served as the forerunner to the modern computer we use today. The differential analyzer is used to solve various equations.
  • In 1944, Howard Aiken created the IBM Automatic Sequence Controlled Calculator, also known as the Harvard Mark I, which has the ability to perform complex equations much faster, and in later years, Howard collaborated with Harvard to create the Mark II, which is more powerful and faster than its predecessor.
