Storyboard Text
- In Chapter 3, Gale is hugging Katniss goodbye before she leaves for the Hunger Games. She suggests in the story that she doesn't have any romantic feelings for Gale, but she doesn't hesitate to run into his arms for an embrace.
- Katniss was trying to maintain a stern face with little to no emotion. She thought that if she did, she'd look weak. She also thought that if she showed that she was strong to sponsors. But this time, it was hard NOT to show emotion.
- But before he said goodbye, Gale said this:
- She begins telling him how it wouldn't be that easy to just get a bow. Gale suggests that she make one., but Katniss had practiced making some like her father, and it didn't go so well. She also said that there may not even be wood, because they change the setting of the Games every year. Then Gale said this:
- "Listen, getting a knife should be pretty easy, but you've got to get your hands on a bow. That's your best chance."
- "Katniss, it's just hunting. You're the best hunter I know."
- Just as they were about to start to say their last goodbyes, the Gamemakers rip them apart. And in a panic, Katniss shouts this:
- "DON'T LET THEM STARVE!!!"
- As the Gamemakers slam the door, all Katniss could think about is what Gale wanted her to remember, but she would never know.
- Gale, in his final words to Katniss before the Hunger Games. says this:
- "I won't! You know I won't! Remember I-"
