- Hi My name is Daksh and I need help solving the equation 2(4x - 3) - 8 = 4 + 2x could you help me?
- Hi My name is Ms. Javi and I am a math expert what do you want to know?
- Yes, the first step is that we would have to distribute the 2 so the new equation would be 8x - 6- 8= 4+ 2x
- What Is the first Step Ms. Javi?
- Okay, so the next step is that we have to combine the like terms which is -6 -8 which would give you -14. The new equation is 8x-14=4+2x
- Could you tell me the next step?
- Good question , Next we will have to do inverse operations to get one number on each side of the equation.
- So far The equation is 8x-14=4+2x what will hapen after that?
- First, we will do 8x-2x which will give you 6x. Then you will do 14=4 to get it to the other side which will get you 18x so the equation now is 6x=18
- Okay How do I do that with the equation we have?
- Yes, so the final step is you have to divide the 6x by 18 which would give you 3. The final answer is x=3 so if you were to put 3 back into the 2 starting equations the answers would equal each other. It was nice meeting you Daksh.
