- You, the OTA, have been assigned to work with Mrs. Singh for 2 weeks. For the first week, she was motivated and consented to treatment. For the past 3 days, she has remained in bed with the blinds down and declined all OT, PT and recreational therapy.
- You and the OT work together and discuss how to motivate and encourage Mrs. Singh to participate in treatment sessions.
- The OT will do another assessment to figure out Mrs. Singh's goals and what will most likely motivate her to get out of bed.
- Liaise with team members to discuss best treatment plan for Mrs. Singh and how to keep her motivated with treatment sessions, using client-centred goals.
- The OT discusses the activities that have been put in the treatment plan with Mrs. Singh and gets her input. The OT finalizes the treatment plan with Mrs. Singh and ensures it is to her liking.
- You perform the activities that are in the treatment plan. If Mrs. Singh is still not motivated; the team can always try incorporating or changing the activities.
