- On 5th January, 1066, King Edward with no heir.
- Our king has passed away
- Three powerful men wanted to claim the throne. They were William the Conqueror, Harold Hardara, and Harold Godwinson
- I Should be king, i am Edward's brother in law.
- England should belong to Norway again
- Edward promised me the throne!
- Seniac hill, 1066
- Harold Godwinson was shot in the eye and killed by William's Archer
- Oh no!
- There is still a threat of invasions from Scandinavia
- There is a strong castle in Dover, if things go wrong it coud cut off the route back to Normandy
- William the Conqueror has some problems in controlling England
- I Must take control of London quickly as it is the capital city
- I need taxes in order to earn money, but i do not know how much wealth is in the country
- Many English Lords do not trust me
- So the Domesday book was commissioned by William
- Domesday Book
- The Domesday book was made in order to state the amount of taxes in each land
