  • Rome is located in Italy it is on a peninsula and is a very mountainous place. It is also shaped like a boot kicking a chip. Rome had geography just like Greece it was rocky and hard to travel from city to city.
  •  Etruscan Influence of Sports on the Romans
  • A princess gave birth to two twin boys named Remus and Romulus. Their dad was Mars the Roman god of war. The twin's grandfather grew jealous and told someone to kidnap them and take them to the Tiber river to drown. Then, a she-wolf saved them and took them back to her cave to raise them as her own. Years later, they built the great city of Rome near the Tiber river.
  • Greek Influence of Architecture on the Roman
  • The Romans were really influenced by the Etruscans and that's where they go the arch. The arch rested on two pillars and formed an up-side-down U shape. They also inherited something called the cuniculus and it was used as an underground drain. It drained swamped areas and distribute water throughout the city.
  • Greek Influence of Writing, Art, and Religion on the Romans
  • The Romans took a sport called Charot racing from the Etruscans. This sport could be very dangerous when knock off your cart. You could be killed if you were run over by your horses and other people's horses.
  • The Romans and Greeks have some of the same architecture like the use of columns and statues. The Romans also took the Greek style of their temples and buildings.
  • Greek art such as painting, sculpting, and pottery was inherited by the Romans. They were able to create realistic statues better than the Greeks. The Romans copied the Greek alphabet. They wrote in all uppercase letters.
