- The people of Malta were very kind people, and welcomed the passengers to their village and provided them with a huge fire to warm themselves up.
- Paul helped and showed gratitude by collecting wood for the fire, but while collecting wood, he was bitten by a poisonous snake.
- Running back to the fire, Paul shook the snake off into the fire, leaving it to burn to death. The villagers were awaiting Paul to fall to the ground as a lifeless body, but he was no harmed by the snake, he had no wound.
