- Act 2, Scene 1Banquo and Macbeth discuss
- Have you thought about the prophecies?
- No, it totally slipped my mind.
- Stick with me, you'll be rewarded.
- OK, to keep my conscience clear.
- In this scene Banquo asks Macbeth if he has thought about the witches prophecies, Macbeth lies and says it completely slipped his mind. He tells Banquo to stick by his side and he'll be rewarded and Banquo agrees to keep a clear conscience. Later, Macbeth sees a vision of dagger pulling him towards Duncans room, which he then hears a bell and knows it's time.

- In this scene, Macbeth envisions the dagger leading to King Duncan's door. The bell then begins to ring and he realises it is time to murder Duncan.

- The deed is done
- In this scene, Macbeth comes back to Lady Macbeth with the evidence of him murdering King Duncan. He was horrified by his actions, he messed up their plan by bringing the evidence to their room instead of with Duncan's servants. Macbeth is too shaken up so Lady Macbeth takes charge and takes the daggers to the drunk servants. When she comes back she tells distraguht Macbeth to snap out of it and wash the blood off his hands to clean him of this deed.
