- Cassius and Brutus get into an argument because Brutus condemned Lucius Pella, for taking bribes from the Sardinians.
- Brutus
- It's dishonorable for you to be on his side. What he did was wrong!
- I even wrote you letters explaining his innocence. However, you ignored them all.
- Cassius
- Cassius and Brutus's argument led them to complain about past altercations between the two. Cassius offered his knife and his bare chest for Brutus to kill him.
- Remember when I asked you to send gold to pay my soldiers and you denied it? A true friend wouldn't do that.
- I think we are being dramatic. Let's forget it.
- It might have been the messenger's fault. I didn't deny you anything.
- You don't love me. Why live if I am hated by someone I love!
- I received a letter saying Octavius and Antony are going to Philippi. We should go tomorrow early in the morning.
- Messala and Titinius came in. They found out that Octavius and Antony agreed on eliminating the Senators and are on their way to Philippi. Alongside Cassius and Brutus, they decided to meet them there.
- Brutus, I don't think it's a good idea. Enemies should come after us rather than us going. However, we will be there with you.
