This character is the uncle. He is almost a complete opposite of his brother who is the main character's dad. he is a very arrogant character when it comes to chess. He chose to play Lynn is chess very confidently and then lost. In this scene he is spitting.
*sigh
Katie is a little girl who loves and relies on her sister. She is what you would call a dependent character. One thing she is dependent on early in the story is her stuff animal, bera-bera. That is what she is looking for in this scene.
'That means I am too'
I'm sad
Lynn is Katie's older sister. She is an independent character, that is also very selfless. She is the type of character that would get attacked by something, and still try to protect it. That is exactly what is happening in this scene.
The mother is a very introverted character. She is usually worried or upset, and loves her alone time. For example, she loves to be alone to have her tea. That is what is happening in this scene.
The father is a very caring character. Even though he looks big and mighty, he really is a selfless person. When his wife gets sad, he automatically gets sad with her. This is because he doesn't like to see her sad. Another example of how caring he is, is that, he makes sure that his wife gets her alone time by getting the kids away.
