Quadrat Sampling while Staying at Home

- Step 3:
- There is only 1 daisy in this quadrat.
- Suppose you go outside to do quadrat sampling in a nearby grassland. Divide the area into grids using tape measures.
- Step 4:
- Repeat this at least 10 times and record in a table.
- work out the mean/average of daisies in each quadrat. (add up all the totals and divide by the number of quadrats).
- Generate random numbers using a random number generator to avoid bias.
- Step 5:
- Use the number pairs to place quadrats in the field (make sure you use a large amount of quadrats so your answer is reliable). Then count how many daisies are in the quadrat.
- Step 6:
- Repeat his 10 times and record in a table.
- Find the mean of daisies in each quadrat.
- For example, I would add up 1+2+2+1+2+3+1=1212 divided by 7= 1.7 So my mean=1.7
- Multiply the mean number of daisies in one quadrat by the number of quadrat that fit into the field.
- For example I would times 1.7 by 15 = 25.5My estimate for how many daisies are in the field.
