- I know how much you wanted to go to art school but this will be so much better since you're so smart!
- Ya know Ellice, there isn't really any diversity at that school.
- Hey Liam whos that?
- Oh thats Maury, he has been here since kindergarten just like me!
- So what do you think about Mrs. Rawle calling you everything BESIDES your name?
- I don't really care anymore but it is still sort of annoying.
- In the beginning, Jordan's mom, Ellice, is talking about his new school and all the great things about it. The dad, Chuck, is on the school's website and see's that there is little diversity at the school.
- Today we are going to be looking at the winners and losers of spring break vacation the biggest winners are Andy and Collin who went to Hawaii!
- Once Jordan and his new friend Liam get to school Jordan sees another person of the same skin color as him and he felt relieved at first until he saw some older kids start to pick on him.
- Did your mom make those tacos or is that just a taco bell thing?
- Shut up Andy! Stop being racist and mean!
- At lunch one day it was cold outside and Jordan didn't want to go outside because of that reason and so did the person. next to him, Drew. Drew was one of the few other colored people at the school and was normally called the wrong name by his teacher and they talked about that kind of stuff joked about it and became friends.
- Im sick of you being racist and we colored kids get looked down on for being on financial-aid too!
- Jordan, yesterday you left your drawing book in the cafeteria and I opened it and I didn't know you were so- angry.
- In the morning announcements the day after spring break they said who went on the best vacation for spring break and Jordan's enemies won. They were enemies because Andy and Collin were always mean and snotty to Jordan and his friends.
- At lunchtime, Andy made a racist comment to Ramon who is Mexican and they were having tacos in the cafeteria that day and Drew got mad and they got into a fight where Andy slipped and said Drew pushed him when he didn't and the teacher believed Andy so Drew got mad and confronted her about being racist and calling him the wrong names.
- After school on the cafeteria fight day, Jordan lost his sketchbook and was concerned. But when he came to school the next day his teacher had it and was looking through it. Jordan expressed his feelings about school in that book and she saw all of it and was concerned about his anger and they talked about it and Jordan ended up helping the problem by making her imagine her in his situation and she thought about his feeling and she started to be nicer to colored kids at the school.
