- It was the 2nd day of February, the First day of School at Beresford Street School. Silvey felt nervous of starting the first day in a new school. At long last, she got rid of Bully Wally because He would always bully Silvey. Starting off good, Judy and her are in the same classroom and they got Miss Rudkin as their teacher again.

- As the war was getting closer to New Zealand, Food had to be rationed. The food that were rationed were tea, sugar, rice and also clothes had to be rationed. The Japanese invaded Australia meaning that the war was closer to New Zealand. They were probably feeling frustrated that there favorite food had to be rationed. For example, sugar meaning chocolate,lollies,etc.

- When the war was still happening, the American soldiers have arrived to New Zealand. Their names were Tom Lee, Wayne Fong, and Harry Young. They came to defend New Zealand because of the war that was happening when the Japanese attacked Australia. Days and days have passed by and the American soldiers had left New Zealand. The Chan family were relieved that the Japanese didn't Invade New Zealand. The end.
