- Good morning Students.Today we are going to recall the different types of vertebrates and their characteristics
- Can each one of you tell me the different types of vertebrates
- Birds
- fish
- amphibians
- mammals
- repitles
- Lets talk about each of these vertebrates
- • Class birds lay their eggs in water, they are vertebrates with feathers , forelimbs have become feathers , lays eggs with hard shells , has a beak.
- class amphibian are vertebrates with moist,scale-less skin, they lay their eggs in water and the larva lives in water, Adults often live on and the larva has gills , adults have lungs Examples are frogs,
- Class reptiles have scaly skin ,lay their eggs with rubbery shells , they do not need to go back to the water to breed as their egg have waterproof shells which stops them from drying out Examples are crocodiles, snakes
- Class fish live in water, Have scaly s\kin, they have gills and fins
- Class mammals are vertebrates with hair , the have a placenta , the young feed from the mammary gland , the heart has 4 chambers and they have different types of teeth.
