- mary has woken up after her sleep to find no one there but a small snake.
- looking at the garden
- mary is on a train to misselthwaite manor with mrs medlock
- finding the robin
- a bird!!!
- mary wakes up to martha the young housemaid lighting the fire. then when martha said she had to get dressed mary just stood still because her ayah always dressed her, when she had to eat she didnt want to.

- when mary was told to go outside she saw a door that led to a garden, she thought it was the garden that hadn't been opened in 10 years so she went to look but it was open.
- when mary was looking in all the bits of the garden for things she couldn't see in india she heard a bird and was so exited because she had never see one before.
- A while later she saw Ben Weather staff the gardener so she went to tell him that the garden isn't very good but then she started talking about the robin, it turned out Ben was friends with the bird
