- Spencer does a report on the graveyard
- The graveyard has ghouls that can't rest because it is too high of a hill.
- Spencer visits the graveyard
- The ghouls take over their bodies
- Spencer is in Mrs. Webster's class and he does a report on the town's graveyard. His teacher decides to take the class on a fieldtrip to the graveyard. (page 1)
- Spencer's spirit goes into his cat, Duke.
- Spencer gets Audra to go back to the graveyard with him and the bullies tie him to a tombstone. (page 33)
- Spencer dances to get his body back
- The ghouls Oswald and Martin take over the bodies of Spencer and Audra. (page 39)
- Spencer and Audra end up in each other's bodies!
- Spencer's spirit jumped from being in a rat, to his cat, Duke, to try and figure out how to get Oswald, the ghoul, out of his body. (page 71)
- I am going to get my body back!
- Spencer remembers a saying, "defeat death only by living" and figures out that dancing causes the ghouls to be in pain so the ghouls leave his and Audra's bodies. (page 113)
- Spencer and Audra defeated Oswald and Martin, but then they realized they were in the wrong bodies! (page 114)
