- EVICTED!
- Hi I'm Matthew Desmond, an American Sociologist and professor at Princeton University. You may know me from my famous book called Evicted.
- I was doing a study on tenants and landlords in Milwaukee’s poorest neighborhoods. I even lived in trailer park and saw people being threatened with eviction.
- Time is up!
- I had spent about 10 months or so in total observing tenants and landlords in this Milwaukee area and learned that eviction was a huge part of America's poverty today.
- Oh My gosh thank you so much !!!

- When I was confronted with just the bare facts of poverty and inequality in America, it always disturbed and confused me. I thought poverty and inequality was not only unnecessary, but also out of character and out of line with our broader ideals.
- This problem effected me on a personal level as I saw mothers with children being evicted and kicked out of their homes. Mom already have to do so much to provide for their kids and this reminded me of my mom.
- So I wrote a book about it called Evicted to inform people that evictions are problem in America. I also provide an effort to help families with housing.
