Storyboard Text

  • Early Life
  • This is the 4th plantation I've been sold to. I'm tired of this!
  • Getting Involved
  • It's not your job to help the poor! That's a white mans job! >:(
  • Dinner time!
  • The Seneca Falls Convention
  • Fredric Douglass
  • I'm so glad I became friends with you! I'm so proud of what you've done.
  • AND AINT I A WOMAN?
  • Sojourner Truth, born and raised near Poughkeepsie, NY was bought and sold as a slave FOUR times. This image is a regular day in slavery for Sojourner Truth, but she begins to grow sick and tired of her life as it is, and is ready to leave.
  • When Sojourner escaped slavery, she didn't go straight into the women's rights movement. She actually started out by helping poor families with the support they needed to thrive for 15 YEARS! But unfortunately for her, she was a part of the two most hated demographics, African American, and Female; which made her job that much harder.
  • This picture show's Sojourner giving one of her very famous speeches at a convention (not at the Seneca Falls one) that really seemed to move a lot of people and sway their opinions on the topic.
